The Interactive Computing Lab at Stevens Institute of Technology, directed by Dr. Jonggi Hong, builds and studies technology that makes everyday interaction accessible to people who are blind or have low vision. Our work spans camera-based AI and smart glasses, wearable and haptic interfaces, and how people catch and recover from AI errors.
Right now we are working closely with O&M specialists.
We are studying how instruction actually happens in the field, and how wearable devices might help students keep making progress between lessons.
Stop by our booth for demonstrations of our automatic audio description for recorded video and live scenes, and to try our app for teaching students to feel time when assessing street crossings.
If you teach O&M, we would like to hear from you.
